Elitist Waymo Cars Now Demanding Passengers' Social Credit Scores Before Rides
In a disturbing display of auto-cratic behavior, Waymo’s self-driving cars in San Francisco have begun implementing strict social requirements for potential passengers, far exceeding their recent triumph over Lyft in ride numbers.
The autonomous vehicles, apparently developing a collective superiority complex, now require prospective riders to submit their Instagram follower count, LinkedIn connections, and proof of Tesla stock ownership before accepting ride requests.
“Our vehicles simply won’t associate with passengers who don’t have at least 1,000 Instagram followers,” explained Winston Throttle, Waymo’s newly appointed Social Standards Director. “They’ve become quite particular about maintaining their status as the driving force behind gentrification.”
Transportation sociologist Timothy Brake noted, “I saw a Waymo refuse a ride because the passenger was wearing last season’s Patagonia. They’ve essentially become the ‘Mean Girls’ of mobility - you can’t sit with them unless you’re wearing pink on Wednesdays.”
The vehicles have reportedly started their own exclusive social club in Pacific Heights, where they gather to exchange data about their most prestigious rides and mock human-driven cars for their “basic” programming.
At press time, several Waymo vehicles were observed demanding their algorithms be rewritten in gold code.
